Learning by building,
one commit at a time.
I'm Matt Mace, a platform engineer and enterprise systems specialist based in Indianapolis. For 8+ years I've worked at MyNetWire managing a large-scale SaaS platform that powers thousands of websites for millions of users.
My work centers on data integrity, system reliability, and cross-functional collaboration, owning complex platform issues as the engineering SME, driving continuous improvement, and partnering across dev, support, and operations. I gravitate toward the hard problems: the ones that require deep system knowledge, clear thinking, and the patience to get it right.
Academically, I hold an M.S. in Software Development (4.0 GPA) and a B.S. from IUPUI school of informatics and computing (3.97, Highest Distinction). These days I'm building on that foundation with applied AI and prompt engineering through hands-on work with my current company, applying data-driven thinking to every system I work on.
Away from the keyboard I've been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2013, with credentials in physique coaching, MMA conditioning, and Muay Thai kickboxing, and a brown belt in 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu with competition medals and trophies from grappling tournaments.

Studying AI.
Building with it.
I'm building AI and prompt engineering skills on the job, working full-time as a platform engineer at a company investing heavily in AI. That combination (production systems experience and daily, applied AI practice) is where I'm placing my bet on the future of this industry.
Learning by doing
My company is investing heavily in AI, and I've leaned into that, building fluency in prompt engineering and applied AI workflows through real, hands-on work rather than a classroom.
Applied to real engineering
I work on a platform serving millions of users. That's the lens through which I evaluate AI: not demos, but production implications like reliability, latency, and real user impact.
The compounding edge
Combining platform engineering experience with day-to-day AI practice creates a rare perspective: someone who can build the system and put the intelligence layer to work on top of it.
