Learning by building,
one commit at a time.
I'm Matt Mace, a platform engineer and enterprise systems specialist based in Indianapolis. For 8+ years I've worked at MyNetWire managing a large-scale SaaS platform that powers thousands of websites for millions of users.
My work centers on data integrity, system reliability, and cross-functional collaboration — owning complex platform issues as the engineering SME, driving continuous improvement, and partnering across dev, support, and operations. Outside of my day role, I've built a full-stack LIMS with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance — including electronic signatures, immutable audit trails, and OOS workflows.
Academically, I hold an M.S. in Software Development (4.0 GPA) and a B.S. in Informatics (3.97, Highest Distinction). I'm now pursuing a second Master's in Artificial Intelligence — applying data-driven thinking to every system I work on.

Things I've built.
From real-time multiplayer systems to authentication pipelines — a collection of projects built to understand how things actually work.
Full-stack Laboratory Information Management System built to pharmaceutical compliance standards. Features 21 CFR Part 11 electronic signatures, immutable audit trail logging, out-of-specification (OOS) workflow management with manager approval gates, chain-of-custody tracking, and statistical anomaly detection via Z-score analysis. Role-based access across administrator, quality manager, and technician tiers.
Real-time multiplayer Tetris built with WebSockets. Multiple players compete live with synchronized game state — no server lag, no cheating.
Low-level socket programming in Python — a client-server architecture demonstrating network communication, message routing, and connection handling.
Browser-based text editor with persistent localStorage — write your content and it survives browser restarts. Clean, distraction-free interface.
Full-stack media player with PHP backend, MySQL for media library management, and a custom JavaScript player frontend with playlist support.
Certificate-based authentication system implemented in Python — exploring PKI, digital signatures, and secure session management from first principles.
Four degrees. Two Master's.
A consistent record of academic excellence — 4.0 at the master's level, 3.97 as an undergrad, and now a second M.S. in AI underway.

Studying AI.
Building with it.
I'm pursuing a Master's degree in AI while working full-time as a platform engineer. That combination — production systems experience and graduate-level AI study — is where I'm placing my bet on the future of this industry.
Academic foundation
Pursuing a Master's in AI isn't just a credential — it's building the theoretical foundation to actually understand what these models are doing, not just how to prompt them.
Applied to real engineering
I work on a platform serving millions of users. That's the lens through which I evaluate AI — not demos, but production implications: reliability, latency, and real user impact.
The compounding edge
Combining platform engineering experience with graduate-level AI study creates a rare perspective: someone who can build the system and understand the intelligence layer on top of it.

"The engineers who understand AI at a technical level won't just use better tools — they'll build things that weren't possible before."
Let's build something remarkable.
